Aftercare Instructions

Please follow these steps to help your tattoo heal clearly & cleanly

  1. Keep it Clean - Wash your hands. Gently wash your tattoo with warm water & mild, unscented soap (e.x. Dial Antibacterial Soap or properly diluted Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap).  Pat dry with a clean paper towel—DO NOT RUB.
  2. Let it Breathe - Leave the bandage on for 2–4 hours. After removing it, do not rewrap your tattoo unless you are taking a quick shower. It needs air to heal.
  3. Moisturize Lightly - Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion 2–3 times a day.

      Use:

      - Lubriderm (Unscented)

      - Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion (Fragrance-Free)

      - Curél Fragrance-Free Lotion

DO NOT USE A&D, AQUAPHOR, VASELINE, NEOSPORIN, EUCERIN, OR ANYTHING GREASY / PETROLEUM BASED!

These trap moisture and stop your tattoo from breathing, which can slow healing and cause distortion to your tattoo.

4.   Don’t Scratch or Pick - Itching is normal. Do not scratch, peel, or pick scabs. Let them fall off naturally.

 5.   Keep it Out of the Water - No swimming, baths, hot tubs, or soaking your tattoo until it’s fully healed—about 2–3 weeks.

 6.   Stay Out of the Sun - Avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds. UV rays fade tattoos fast—especially when healing.

If you notice signs of infection (like swelling, pus, or extreme redness), contact your artist and a healthcare provider.
